Today May 11,2023, we announce that The Sedoo Initiative for Children with Special Needs has become an official nonprofit partner of GlobalGiving after completing its Pathway program and undergoing an extensive vetting process.

GlobalGiving is the first and largest worldwide fundraising community for nonprofits, donors, and companies. Through access to funding, tools, training, and one-on-one support, they support community-driven organizations like The Sedoo Initiative for Children with Special Needs in hundreds of communities around the world, creating a virtuous cycle of good.

Each year, thousands of organizations from around the world apply to become official partners of GlobalGiving by completing the Pathway program, a community learning experience designed by existing GlobalGiving nonprofit partners to help organizations get fundraising ready.

“I am excited to see how our partnership evolves, and I am honored to be part of their journey to make the world a better place,” said GlobalGiving CEO Victoria Vrana of the partnership with The Sedoo Initiative for Children with Special Needs.

This partnership will enable The Sedoo Initiative for Children with Special Needs to impact more children with special needs who need therapy and care, support parents and caregivers.

“I’m glad to collaborate with GlobalGiving in addressing the needs of vulnerable children while promoting their rights. This partnership will open new doors and help us better improve the wellbeing of children with special needs, parents and caregivers,” said The Sedoo Initiative for Children with Special Needs President Kawan Aondofa-Anjira of the wider reach the partnership with Globalgiving will afford.

About SECHILD
The Sedoo Initiative for Children with Special Needs (SECHILD) is a not-for profit, community-driven development and non-governmental charity that advocates for the rights of children with special needs, provides residence care, physio/occupational therapies, succour for parents, professional help and information resource centre on therapy, education and support with emphasis on children with Cerebral Palsy.

SECHILD works with people and institutions who share a common interest in advocating for the rights of children with special needs, developing support and creating a community of understanding, acceptance, care and rehabilitation of this category of children. Re-orienting those who see them as gifts from the devil: put an end to the indiscriminate killing, brutal mal-practices of neglect, eventual deaths or actual putting to death due to myths and traditional beliefs.
What we do

  • Our program is providing children with special needs the care and items that they need for their day-to day living. These are by and large not currently being covered by any form of medical insurance nor provided by a community program. With this in mind, SECHILD runs a facility (SECHILD Centre) where children with cerebral palsy are admitted for professional care, physio/occupational therapies and support, information and counselling to their families/caregivers.
