About Us

Who we are & our mission

Our Story

SECHILD – The Sedoo Initiative for Children with Special Needs – is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and individuals with disabilities, particularly those affected by cerebral palsy and developmental delays. Founded on the principles of dignity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, our mission is to ensure that every child—regardless of ability—has the chance to thrive.

Our work is rooted in five core focus areas:

Advocacy:

We promote the rights of people with disabilities through community outreach, media campaigns, and policy dialogues. We challenge stigma, raise awareness, and push for inclusive education, healthcare, and public accountability.

Special Education:

Our educators develop individualized learning plans tailored to each child’s needs. We use adaptive teaching strategies and support inclusive classroom models to help children reach their full academic and developmental potential.

Rehabilitation & Intervention:

We provide physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and early intervention services. Our team helps children improve motor skills, communication, and independence while training caregivers to continue support at home.

Mental Health & Family Support:

SECHILD offers counseling, peer support, and trauma-informed care to children and caregivers, addressing issues like burnout, anxiety, and emotional wellbeing. We believe no family should walk the disability journey alone.

Disability & Gender-Based Violence:

We work to protect women and children with disabilities from abuse through sensitization, training, and survivor support services. Our programs empower vulnerable individuals to understand their rights and seek help safely.
