From Dependence to First Steps: Samuel’s Journey of Hope.
At the NKST Church Women Fellowship Annual Conference, I stood before a room full of women and spoke from the heart—about children with cerebral palsy,
about dignity, and about the work we do at SECHILD to ensure no child is left behind.
I didn’t know it then, but that moment would change a little boy’s life.
A Family in Search of Hope
A few days after the conference,
Samuel’s parents arrived at the SECHILD Center. A neighbor who had attended the event had told them about us.
Their five-year-old son, Samuel, had cerebral palsy. He was completely dependent—unable to sit, walk, or feed himself.
His parents were exhausted, overwhelmed, and desperate for help.
They found it.
A New Chapter Begins
Samuel was enrolled in our residential care and therapy program.
From the very beginning, our team poured love, patience, and professional care into his daily routine.
Progress was slow but it came. First, he began to hold his head up. Then he could sit with support. And then, one day, Samuel took his first independent steps.
He even began to try feeding himself, something that once seemed impossible.
When we brought Samuel to SECHILD, we were broken and afraid. Today, we are filled with hope. Watching him take his first steps was like watching a miracle unfold.

A Story That Inspires Us All
Samuel’s journey is far from over, but his story is a powerful reminder of what’s
possible when children are given the care, dignity, and opportunity they deserve.
At SECHILD, we believe in every child’s potential and Samuel is living proof.
Help Us Reach More Children Like Samuel
Your support can help more children take their first steps,
literally and figuratively. Whether through donations, volunteering,
or spreading the word, you can be part of a story that changes lives.
