Tersoo: From Rejection to Radiance

Tersoo was just a baby, barely a year old when his life was nearly taken from him. Abandoned by his parents and rejected by his community, he was given up to be drowned. In a world that saw no value in his life, SECHILD stepped in. We rescued him, not just from danger, but from a future that had already been written off.

A New Beginning

When Tersoo arrived at SECHILD, he was fragile, silent, and deeply vulnerable. But we saw something else: potential. Over the past decade, we’ve watched him grow into a bright, determined, and deeply loved young boy.

Now about 12 years old, Tersoo has spent most of his life under our care. He learned to communicate, to trust, and to thrive. Today, he is enrolled at the FCT School for the Deaf in Kuje, in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, a place where he continues to learn, dream, and shine.

A Life Transformed

Tersoo’s story is not just one of survival, it’s one of transformation. From a child the world tried to throw away, he has become a symbol of what love, protection, and opportunity can do.

Tersoo is our star boy. His life reminds us why SECHILD exists to stand in the gap for children the world has forgotten.
