Chair, Board of Trustees

Barrister Aver Gavar, Director of Human Rights Education at Nigeria's National Human Rights Commission, has over 30 years of legal experience. She holds an LL.B from the University of Jos and specializes in strategic planning, program development, and policy advocacy. Aver is a dedicated advocate for children's rights and the disability act in Nigeria. She represents Nigeria on the AU Committee for children's rights and chairs SECHILD, promoting the rights of children with disabilities.

Kawan Aondofa-Anjira

Kawan Aondofa-Anjira

President, SECHILD (Mrs, FIMC, MILM, CILRM)

Kawan Aondofa-Anjira is a committed leader with over 20 years in banking. She holds a BA in Mass Communications and founded SECHILD in 2011 to support children with cerebral palsy. She has built strategic partnerships, developed health education programs, and advocates for policy changes. As a mother of four, including two children with cerebral palsy, her personal experience fuels her dedication. She has received numerous humanitarian awards.

Aondofa Anjira

Aondofa Anjira

Vice President, SECHILD

Aondofa Anjira, Vice President of SECHILD and a father of four, is a passionate advocate for children with special needs. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Ibadan and works at the National Pension Commission (PENCOM). Inspired by his two children with cerebral palsy, Sedoo and Aondofa, he actively supports and guides other fathers, advocating for the rights of children with disabilities.

Dr. Ver-Or Ngutor

Dr. Ver-Or Ngutor

Trustee

Dr. Ver-or Ngutor, a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, brings vast expertise to our board. With a BDS from the University of Ibadan and FWACS from the West African College of Surgeons, he has served as CEO/Surgeon at the Oral Health Advocacy Initiative and Consultant at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital. He has performed over 9,400 cleft lip surgeries through Smile Train and is a recognized thought leader with numerous publications. His humanitarian efforts earned him the National Honors Award (MON).

Jessica Ofem-Arikpo

Jessica Ofem-Arikpo

Jessica Ofem-Arikpo is a dedicated professional with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Benue State University, Makurdi. Passionate about human rights advocacy, Jessica channels her efforts into her role at the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other related Matters. As a staunch advocate for child rights, she fervently works towards creating a safer and more equitable environment for children.

Esther Iangba-kapu

Esther Iangba-Kapu (Mrs) pursued her academic journey with a focus on nurturing young minds. With a degree in Agricultural Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and further studies in Education at Benue State University, Makurdi, Esther's educational background reflects her passion for teaching and learning. Currently serving as a dedicated teacher at the Government Model College, Makurdi, within the Benue State Teaching Service Board, Esther brings enthusiasm and care to her role.

Jamila Ibrahim-Danbatta

Jamila Ibrahim-Danbatta

Trustee

Jamila Ibrahim-Danbatta, with a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Ilorin, has excelled in the banking sector, holding roles from Customer Service Officer to Head of Operations. She now oversees nationwide enrolment at the National Identity Management Commission. Jamila is dedicated to community service, supporting children with special needs, including her own child with cerebral palsy.

Afa Mark-Iber

Afa Mark-Iber (Mrs) is a dedicated child rights advocate and currently serves as the General Manager at the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) in Abuja. With Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Economics from the University of Maiduguri and the University of Jos respectively, Afa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. A certified National Accountant and a member of the Nigeria Economic Society, she combines her professional acumen with her passion for social welfare.

Trustee

Barrister Terna Isaac Liman, Manager/Unit Head of Litigation at the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, excels in legal operations, contract management, and team leadership. He holds a law degree from the University of Ibadan and a certification from the Nigerian Law School, and is pursuing an LLM in Law and Government. Fluent in Tiv and English, he engages effectively with diverse stakeholders.
