Improving Access to Primary Healthcare Services for Children with Disabilities

SECHILD successfully implemented a project aimed at advancing access to primary healthcare for children with disabilities through sustained awareness, advocacy, and institutional collaboration. With the support of Liliane Fonds in partnership with The Leprosy Mission Nigeria, SECHILD organized a pivotal stakeholders meeting on October 17, 2023, gathering healthcare providers, disability advocates, and policymakers to discuss strategies for making healthcare systems more inclusive and accessible.

Residential Care, Therapy and Advocacy Program

SECHILD's Residential Care, Therapy, and Advocacy Program provided comprehensive support to children with disabilities and their families. This project created a nurturing environment for children, particularly those with cerebral palsy, where they could receive specialized therapeutic care and ongoing rehabilitation. SECHILD also delivered resources and training for parents and caregivers, empowering them with essential skills for caregiving and advocacy.

Scaling Up Access to Primary Healthcare Services in Kuje

With funding from Liliane Fonds through The Leprosy Mission Nigeria, SECHILD implemented a project to broaden healthcare access for children with disabilities in Kuje Area Council. This initiative expanded services to underserved communities, established strong partnerships with local health authorities and NGOs, and provided healthcare providers with additional training and resources — leaving a lasting impact on the community.
